1. China's industrial robot market reached $4.86 billion in the first Q3 of 2019
In the first three quarters of 2019, the global robot industry market was $23.53 billion, of which the industrial robot market was $ 13.41 billion, the service robot market was $ 7.53 billion, and the special robot market was $ 2.59 billion. 2. Huawei leads China’s tablet market in Q3 with 2.12 million shipments
According to global market intelligence firm International Data Corp. (IDC), China’s tablet market in the first three quarters of 2019 is about 5.67 million shipments, with a year-on-year growth for six consecutive quarters. Among them, Huawei took the lead in China’s tablet market for the first time due to the popularity of its new flagship model and wide range of products according to IDC. The shipment of Huawei’s tablets amounted to 2.12 million units, up 24.4% from a year ago, accounting for 37.4 percent of the total market. Apple’s iPads ranked second with a 33.8% share, followed by Xiaomi, which took 5.9% of the market.
3.China automaker Geely sells over 1m cars in Jan-Oct
Chinese carmaker Geely announced it had achieved 80% of its annual sales target with a total of 1,088,290 vehicles sold in the first 10 months of 2019. It is the third year in a row that Geely's annual sales have exceeded one million units, the company said. The October sales reading stood at 130,180, up 14% month-on-month.
Geely sold 2,986 vehicles overseas last month, a 124% increase compared with the same period last year, which brought the total export volume up to 51,465 units from January to October, surging 196% year-on-year. The company has witnessed rapid expansion of its new energy vehicles (NEVs) business since it rolled out several new plug-in hybrid models under its new brand Lynk & Co. Geely sold 89,032 NEVs in the January-October period, growing by 74% compared with the same period last year.
Shenzhen has announced it will offer 35 land plots covering 30 square kilometers for industrial development, as the southern metropolis moves to attract more outstanding enterprises and projects to push forward growth. Of the 35 plots, nine are larger than 1 square kilometer, with the largest covering 4.8 square kilometers. They will be used to develop large innovation carriers, emerging industries and optimize industrial chains.
Shenzhen, known as China's "Silicon Valley", is stepping up efforts to enhance its capability in original innovation. To this end, it aims to build mega technological infrastructure at an advanced international level, including a comprehensive national science center, a national laboratory and Nobel Prize laboratory.
In this aspect of industrial development, the city is focused on new-generation information technology, high-end equipment manufacturing, green industry, bio-medicine, digital economy, new material and the maritime economy. Enterprises and projects related to 5G mobile telecommunication, 8K ultra high definition video, integrated circuits and artificial intelligence will also be welcome.
The city will hold a global investment promotion event in mid-December, during which it will unveil more detailed policies in industrial development and information on the plots.
