【Introduction】 In 2019, the global 3D printing industry reached USD$11.956 billion, with a growth rate of 29.9%, and a yoy increase of 4.5%. Because of the prosperous development of 3D printing so that this industry hasn't been affected by the pandemic, it even can help in solving the problems during the COVID-19.

In recent years, 3D printing has shown significant advantages in product  customization, complex parts manufacturing, and medical device production. From an industrial perspective, developed industrial countries in the world have taken 3D printing as a new development and growth point, and also vigorously promoted 3D printing technology and innovation application. China’s 3D printing industry has also developed rapidly, and major breakthroughs have been made in 3D printing technologies related to industrial manufacturing, education, and medical treatment.

Global 3D Printing Industry Overview

In 2019, the global 3D printing industry reached USD$11.956 billion, with a growth rate of 29.9%, and a yoy increase of 4.5%. Looking at the Chinese market, the industry scale of 3D printing in China reached RMB¥15.747 billion in 2019, a significant increase over the last year. Because of the prosperous development of 3D printing so that this industry hasn't been affected by the pandemic, it even can help in solving the problems during the COVID-19. Taking Soon Solid, a 3D printing company located in Zhejiang China, as an example, the company received the first foreign investment in Keqiao District in 2020, invested in the innovative R & D work after resumption during the pandemic.

Structure of Global 3D Printing Industry

In 2019 global 3D printing industry structure, the 3D printing equipment industry scale was USD$5.297 billion, accounting for the highest proportion, reaching 44.3%; the 3D printing service industry scale was USD$3.778 billion, accounting for the second, reaching 31. 6%; 3D printing materials industry scale was USD$2.881 billion, accounting for 24.1%. Chinese 3D printing equipment accounts for 45%, and the rest two basically accounts for the same proportion. It can be seen that 3D printing companies must form a systematic industrial scale as well as maintain a complete supply chain from upstream to downstream companies in the process of development. Only in this way can 3D printing companies be in an invincible position.

At the current stage, 3D printing companies are developing into subdivided industries. In the past, 3D printing products produced by 3D printing companies were often suitable for use in multiple fields. Now, more and more enterprises are focusing on the development of one industry. Again, taking Soon Solid as an example, the company has entered the digital dental market since 2016, and its annual CARG growth has exceeded 100%. Its dental 3D printers have a relatively large market share in the US. Getting a foothold in subdivided industries means that the development of 3D printing companies has penetrated into all walks of life and played an important role.

In 2019, the US industrial scale accounted for 40.4% of the world's total, Germany is second only to the US, and China ranks the third. China, as a country started in 3D printing late, has been focusing on independent innovation and R & D in recent years. Although there is still a gap with foreign technology, it is also stepping towards refinement and professional development. Certainly, the huge Chinese market potential has also attracted the attention and investment of many foreign 3D printing industry giants, which further promotes the development of China's 3D printing industry.

In general, with the support of policies, the development of Chinese 3D printing industry is continuous and prosperous. At the same time, from the perspective of industrial structure, building an integrated industrial

Shenzhen International Additive Manufacturing Technology Exhibition, one of the ITES themed exhibitions, creates a display and communication platform that integrates upstream and downstream enterprises among 3D printing equipment, 3D scanners, material and software, which promotes the transformation of 3D printing from prototype to production.

At present, ITES has gathered representative enterprises such as wenext, Road Ahead Technologies Consultant Corp(RATC), Union Technology Corporation(UnionTech), E-Plus 3D, Tenyuan 3D, ZWSOFT CO., LTD, Hangzhou Scantech Co., Ltd.,  Shenzhen Sunshine Laser & Electronics Technology Co., Ltd., Deed 3D Technology Co.,Ltd. ITES looks forward to gathering more 3D printing companies together in Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center on Sept. 1-4!
